Rebellion (bass) - tabbed by Astat Tuning: C G C F (Slightly overdriven) *Note* The bass on this track is most likely a Fender Precision bass. As he has on numerous System of a Down and Scars on Broadway recordings in the past, Daron Malakian also played bass on the studio recording of this track in addition to tracking all of the guitars (he's actually only credited with guitar in the album notes for some reason, but the band confirmed in interviews around the time the album came out that he also played bass). He primarily sticks to similar ideas to what the rhythm guitars play, but notably this bass track sounds like one continuous take without any punch-ins, so there are a few spots where the rhythm varies slightly or he anticipates chord changes a note or two earlier than he does on other repeats of the same riff (I've tabbed as many of these slight variations as possible here). A few interesting parts to point out, there's one point at the end of the second repeat of the first bridge riff where Daron leaves the last note out - it sounds very purposeful, even though the guitars don't follow suit. In the last chorus, watch out for how the rhythm changes halfway through the third line instead of at the start of the third line like it does in the first two choruses, and in the extra repetition of the last chorus, watch out for the root-fifth thing that really does a great job of changing up the vibe.
