Numb (bass) - tabbed by Astat

For being a simple 4-chord song for the most part, Numb actually has a fairly interesting bassline. For starters, I haven't used any hold/sustain symbols (~) in this tab, because all the notes are held for their full duration anyway. Phoenix does a lot of variations on the different repeats of the main 4-note sequence, mainly on the endings. A couple key things to watch out for, the slide down from the 12th fret at the end of the second verse doesn't happen immediately after the 12th fret note, the note is held for one beat, then you slide down without picking the note again. At the end of the bridge, the slide up from the open low Db string is more like an open low Db string, then a quick hammer-on/slide executed without picking the string again, it all sounds like one quick motion on the recording though, so I've tabbed it that way. The little root-fifth fill at the end of the last chorus is also a noteworthy variation, and the 3rd fret note in parentheses in the outro is a very odd trait of the recording - it sounds like that note was edited in, my guess is that Phoenix accidentally cut off that note before he was supposed to on the main take they used, so they punched in the "fade-out" portion of another 3rd fret note from elsewhere in the song to cover it up. Anyway, as long as you pay attention to all the repeats, this one is easy.
