Guitar 3 is a Takamine steel-string acoustic guitar. Use the bridge pickup unless otherwise noted. The last song on Minutes to Midnight has an absolutely mind-boggling number of guitar tracks in it, although quite a few of them play relatively small roles. Guitars 1 and 2 play the initial feedback stuff at the beginning of the song, and that's it. Guitar 3 is the acoustic guitar that plays throughout the first half of the song, there are a LOT of variations on it so watch out for them. Guitar 4 comes in after the first chorus, it's panned to the left and more or less doubles Guitar 3, with a few differences here and there. Guitar 5 comes in during the following pre-chorus, it's panned to the right and plays octaves. Guitars 4 and 5 also serve as the main rhythm guitars under the solo and outro, where they double each other at all times. Guitar 6 plays some droning chords WAY in the background during the breakdown, it's extremely trebly-sounding and is panned to the left, but its delay/reverb is panned to the right. Guitar 7 is the first part of the lead guitar line, it plays the single-note stuff on the D string that builds into the main guitar solo (to get the right sound for Guitar 7, start with your volume knob rolled way down and gradually turn it up during the last line before the solo). Guitars 8 and 9 show up right before the solo kicks in, they sound like feedback but they're actually EBow parts - Brad's "EBow Idea" demo for No More Sorrow originated from trying to come up with an EBow part on this song, which didn't work out, but apparently a couple little EBow swells made their way into the final mix anyway. Guitar 10 is the main lead guitar for the solo, note that its last note overlaps with the start of the outro as well. Guitars 11 and 12 are a second pair of rhythm guitars that come in for the outro, they have a much heavier distortion on them and play C and D powerchords, dropping down to an open low D for the latter. Guitars 13 and 14 handle the lead parts during the outro, and play different parts that compliment each other nicely - Guitar 13 is panned to the left and plays a constant root-fifth thing on a D powerchord (this part also has a chorus/doubling effect on it like the solo does, oddly enough), while Guitar 14 is panned to the right and plays the more prominent high-register parts. Lastly, Guitar 15 is a one-note feedback sample that fades in at the end of all but the first repeat of the outro part. Watch out for a couple things with Guitar 5 during the pre-chorus/second chorus - first of all, there are weirdly two E octaves in the first line of the pre-chorus where you can hear a 10th fret C note on the D string. This is so incredibly odd that I feel like it must have been a mistake, but you also have to reach over with your pinky to even hit those notes while playing the octave shape, so it really leaves me scratching my head as to how that even happened. Anyway, those two notes are in parentheses, since they're probably not played on purpose. The fourth line of the chorus has Guitar 5 starting a fret lower than it's supposed to, so there's a quick slide from E to F there. On the last line of the second chorus, Guitar 5 awkwardly cuts off its first G octave at the 10th fret, it almost sounds like an edit that was done to cover some out-of-key noise, but I've put that in parentheses as well. I put a blank staff at the beginning of the breakdown to give a better indication of the timing. I'm not entirely positive on Guitar 6's chords during the breakdown, that part is extremely hard to hear, but I think it's close. I know the outro is ridiculously long on this one with how many parts there are, sorry about that! Fortunately the outro more or less repeats the same thing the whole time, so at least you don't have to read along with the whole thing to watch out for variations.
