I have no clue why the LPU 11 CD doesn't use the proper title of the demo version of this song, which is "Untitled." The title "In the End" was only come up with as a last-minute change before Hybrid Theory's release, largely due to R&B singer D'Angelo having a hit single that was called "Untitled" around that time, so this demo SHOULD have the working title on it...but I digress. Anyway, the most noteworthy thing about this demo is that unlike the final album version, it's in Eb tuning! A couple things give this away, one is that the bass during the verses is played an octave higher than on the album version, and the other is that the chorus guitars play the Db5 chords an octave higher. Other than the tuning, there isn't a whole lot of noteworthy stuff going on, just watch out for the B5 to Bb5 shift at the end of each repeat of the chorus riff, it happens on every repeat instead of every other repeat like it does on the album version. As with the album version, the feedback played by Guitar 2 at the start of the bridge/ending is just an approximation, it sounds slightly different than the outro feedback on the album version, but it's basically just done by letting all 3 harmonics from the end of the chorus sustain into feedback. This tab can also be used for any other demo version of this song you find floating around, as they're all more or less different mixes of the same recording.
