Guitar 1 plays the intro, Guitars 2 and 3 handle the verses, Guitars 4 and 5 play the rest of the distorted parts, and Guitar 6 handles the clean parts in the bridge. This song was heavily revised between the Hybrid Theory EP and the earliest known live performances by Linkin Park, and the clean part in the bridge was one of the sections that ended up being cut out of the song. As a result, I've really had to do some guess work on the positionings for that section, but after several revisions, I'm positive I have all the notes right. It's actually a pretty tricky part, especially the second part of each repeat. It took me a while to figure out what Brad was even doing fingering-wise to make that section work, but if you play the 8th fret note with your middle finger and the 7th fret note with your first finger, then slide back to a C powerchord-ish shape with your ring and pinky fingers playing the 5th fret notes on the middle strings, I think that works best (there's definitely some kind of position shift when the move from 7 to 5 happens there). Look out for the weird-looking inverted A5 powerchord in the outro. It's the same chord that's used in the chorus of Numb, except that it doesn't have the top note. A couple more little notes, the muted strums played by Guitar 3 during the small break in the second verse are just an approximation, it's really just some random string noise that wasn't removed in the final mix. There are audible slides on the lowest string that occur betweeen the 8th fret notes and 12th fret harmonics in the intro/verse riff, I've put these are all parentheses because while the sound of the slide is really obvious, there's no defined "landing" point, you just slide up until you get to where you can reach the harmonic and immediately lift off the fretted note. Also, note that Guitars 4 and 5 have a much fuzzier-sounding distortion on them than Guitars 2 and 3 do (ESPECIALLY Guitar 5, for whatever reason the guitar on the right side is super compressed and spitty-sounding compared to the one on the left side - basically the opposite of what occurs on the rhythm guitar parts in Carousel).
